Help Us Grow

Since 1980 the Burlington Farmers Market has brought together farmers, artisans and customers from all walks of life. It’s a tourist destination and a staple event in the community. Every Saturday from May to October, we bring an empty space alive as vendors set up their tents and thousands gather to find fresh produce, try a new cuisine, or appreciate some local art.

In its 40+ years, the market has gone through a lot of change. From a handful of vendors at City Hall Park, to tackling changes brought on by the pandemic, to a thriving market place on Pine Street, the market is constantly evolving. We continue to search for a permanent home where we can invest in our space. In the meantime, investment from the community helps us to build our programs, improve market infrastructure, and expand our customer base.

As a non-profit organization, we rely on grants and membership fees as our primary finding source. In order to keep fees reasonable for our producers, and to be able to provide a vibrant gathering space where our community can access high quality local produce, we need your support! Sponsorships and donations are used to cover our running costs (staffing, insurance, rent, and so on) and community programs (music, bike parking, kids entertainment, and so much more…).

In 2023 we brought over 145,000 visitors to our summer market, with our busiest day hosting more than 12,000 people. Our customers are eager to engage with their community, and with such high visibility this is a prime opportunity to market your business. Online, we have 12.1k Instagram followers, 1.6k Facebook followers, and 2023 brought 63,000 unique visitors to our website.
